Hello and welcome to the official website of the Brotherhood of Woden. We are a religious group which was established on the spring equinox of 2014. Our main aim is to follow and to teach to others the most ancient root religion of the Northern European peoples, we are specifically aimed towards awakening the English. However we are fully understanding of the similarities we share with our European cousins and are supportive of other Northern European groups.
To date, we have managed to reach out to many people across the globe thanks to this website. At home here in England we have managed to build up a nationally recognised religious group. We actively meet up on a regular basis to celebrate in the traditions of our 'dright'folk. We have members spread out across many parts of England who have now formed their own Wodenic groups in their own parts of the country. This then allows people to run things in their own manner whilst having guidance from ourselves whenever they may need it. We regularly meet up with our members for moots, blots, educational purposes, days out, or simply just to socialise. Many members also enjoy practicing survival craft and English martial arts. Some have artistic skills which they like to bring to the fore, such as art, poetry and music. All of these things create a willingness to work together and to be as one within the group. It is a great way to meet like minded people and to enjoy the old ways of our people, but in a more modern environment, as we are Wodenists and not re-enactors.
Wodenism is a part of our every day lives and through its practice we have become more self conscious of who we are and what will become of us. We learn to understand the mysteries of our people. We have and we hold within us, the values of our ancestors. The deities we worship are those which have been with us from the very beginning. Everything we teach has been well read and researched. We have also created many educational booklets which we hand out at moots as well as lessons and speeches on various subjects.
We are open to new members of any age or gender male/female who are willing to learn about Wodenism. We do not ask for a joining fee and we are more than happy to help members form their own religious groups within their own areas. We are also willing to help and work with other Wodenists or Wodenic groups across the globe. Together we can flame the embers of our roots - If you would like to join us or you think this is what you are looking for, then please message us via our contacts page and we will get straight back to you as soon as possible.
